Stereo MP3 Car Player
$39
I have been testing one of these clever devices for a while now. The problem of playing MP3 music in a vehicle is that you usually need to either have an MP3 capable car stereo or you hook up your MP3 player somehow to the stereo which usually means cables for both the audio and 12V power and that can be a nuisance. This is where this device is so handy – simply plug it into the cigarette lighter socket and it transmits the sound to your car radio on a spare frequency!
No messy wires needed – I just leave mine plugged in and it even remembers the last track played so it doesn’t start playing the first song everytime.
It requires either a USB flash drive or an SD card (which I use as it’s much smaller in size) to store the music files. In may case I have a 1Gb card which can store around 300 songs – plenty for the longest drive!
It even comes with a remote control so you can control various functions like the equaliser settings etc, but the Pause/Play Forward/Back buttons are all I use to control the device. The clarity and quality of the music is outstanding – no trace of static just the occasional burst from the mobile phone if I leave it too close to the radio!
If you don’t have a spare USB flash drive (the smaller the better as it sticks out the bottom) or an SD card for it, I have 2Gb SD cards available for $20 that can store over 600 songs.
