About

Who is Coastal Computers & Design?

A small business based on the South Coast of NSW run by Andy Turner. I have worked in the computer & telecom industries since the early 1980s and have run my own computer businesses since 1998 and 2005 in the Shoalhaven.

My aims are to provide assistance to both home and small businesses in the following areas :

  • Advise on computer purchases, repairs and upgrades to existing PCs and laptops. Onsite visits in the region that I cover to assist with all types of computer problems, large and small.
  • Telecom consultancy to enable customers to drastically reduce their phone service costs by recommending the best value phone plans and in some cases, making use of V.O.I.P (Voice Over the Internet) technologies.
  • Website design services for individuals, non profits and small businesses in all areas of Australia.

As you can tell from the brief bio above, I am a (now senior) geek – and proud to be one.

Since I discovered a passion for electronics at an early age, I have been fascinated by technology of all kinds. I built my first home stereo system from scratch, even the speakers and my first, very basic by today’s standards, computer in the early 1980s.

I keep up with changes in technology and believe I can’t honestly advise customers unless I have personal experience in the things they want to use. I have setup a home file server for keeping files secure and delivering multimedia content around the house, a VOIP (voice over internet) phone service to drastically reduce our phone bills and use a variety of gadgets including smart phones, tablets and media players to ensure I keep up with what customers ask me about.

I support the seniors in our community with my involvement in the Heads Seniors Computer Club and attend most club meetings to provide assistance and training.

Contact me if you need assistance with nearly every type of ‘technical’ problem – from smart phones to smart TVs, from computer malware removal to helping you reduce your phone bills.

‘If it’s got a chip inside, I can probably help you !’
